ATHLETICS: DISCIPLINES

The following rules in each discipline are the only exceptions to the international rules as per international rules

100 metre sprint, 80 metre hurdles, Shot put, Javelin, Long jump, High jump, 4 x 100 metre relay, 3 x 80 metre hurdle relay

Each competitor may compete in maximum three disciplines and must compete in two disciplines. Each school must have two competitors for each discipline. The two competitors’ results will be added together, and their joint score will decide the school’s result in the discipline. The overall score after completion of all the disciplines will decide each school’s final overall ranking in the athletics competition

ATHLETICS RULES
100 METER SPRINT

Each competitor may have a maximum of one false start.

80 METER HURDLES

Hurdle height:  Girls: 84 cm – Boys: 91cm.

SHOT PUT

Each competitor is permitted four attempts. Girls: 4 kg – Boys: 6 kg.

JAVELIN

Each competitor is permitted four attempts. Girls and boys 600 grams.

LONG JUMP

Each competitor is permitted four attempts.

HIGH JUMP

The jump height will be increased with increments of 5 cm after each round.

4 X 100 METER

Each competitor may have a maximum of one false start.

3 X 80 METER HURDLES

The same rules as for the individual 80 metre hurdles apply. The relay is complete when the competitor passes the starting line where the next competitor is waiting.
